The number of individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease each year is growing at a somewhat alarming rate. And the age of the individuals diagnosed with this disease is continuing to get lower and lower to such a degree that Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease (YOPD) is actually a thing.
As more and more institutes race towards finding a cure, we could not help but try to figure out how best to help these individuals NOW. We recognized that a first step in this direction was to create a treatment center for individuals with Parkinson's Disease. Next, was to have some unique pieces of exercise equipment to help challenge the activity status of such individuals. We then we focused our efforts to hire someone with a specific level of expertise who could assess the needs of these patients and provide direction or oversight for these individuals to train or workout.
We are pleased to bring on staff Cristina (Tina) Reuben, PT. As a Physical Therapist who originally trained and certified as a Neurodevelopmental Therapist (NDT), Tina has gone on to find her passion in also evaluating & treating patients with Parkinson’s Disease. She is now one of the few clinicians who is dual certified in PWR and Big & Loud. She will fill this role in a part-time capacity.
